ZHENG LAB
Recruiting New Undergraduate and Graduate Students
The Zheng research group in the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department at Kent State University is recruiting new undergraduate students and graduate students.
Undergraduate Research
Our group aims to promote undergraduate research at Kent State University. To participate in the research lab during spring and fall semesters, undergraduate students can take credits via registering Individual Investigation or Honors Thesis. In summer, students can participate in our research as undergraduate research assistants via KSU-funded SURE program, or NSF-funded REU program. We offer paid ($12-15/hr) research assistant positions to support our undergraduate students.
The Zheng lab provides students with different research topics across chemistry and biology. In the lab, the undergraduate students will receive hands-on trainings from the PI and graduate students. The undergraduate students will be involved in all aspects of the research process, from developing and planning experiments to collecting and analyzing data. Upon accomplishing research projects, the students will contribute to manuscript preparation for publications and present their results in local and national scientific meetings, including Undergraduate Research Symposium at KSU and National American Chemical Society (ACS) Meetings.
For Prospective Graduate Students
The chemistry department of Kent State University has a dedicated website (https://www.kent.edu/chemistry/graduate-programs) for PhD and MS applications. If you are interested in joining our lab as a new PhD or MS student, please submit the application via the website.
