The Ohio Inorganic Weekend (OIW) is an annual gathering of inorganic chemists from across Ohio and neighboring states, providing a supportive forum for students and faculty to share research, connect, and foster collaborations.
OIW2025
The 2025 meeting will maintain its student-centered format with a poster session on Friday evening, November 7, and oral presentations on Saturday, November 8, hosted at the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry, Kent State University (Kent, OH). Registration is free of charge, and the abstract submission deadline is October 24, 2025. We warmly invite undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral researchers to present their work, with faculty participation encouraged to support and engage with the next generation of chemists. From I-76 (east or west): Take Exit 33 (Kent). Follow OH-43 North for ~3 miles into Kent. Turn right onto E. Summit Street, then left onto Risman Drive. The Visitor Parking Lot will be on your left.

From Akron (I-77/I-76 interchange): Drive east on I-76 to Exit 33 (Kent). Follow OH-43 North into Kent, then proceed as above (approx. 25 minutes).

From Cleveland (I-480/I-271): Take I-480 East to OH-43 South. Follow OH-43 into Kent, then turn left on E. Summit Street and left on Risman Drive (approx. 50 minutes).

OIW 2025 Post-Event Summary
The OIW2025 was successfully hosted by Kent State University on November 7–8, 2025, bringing together nearly 160 students and faculty from 18 universities and colleges across Ohio and neighboring states.
